Depuis 2017 Anthony Laguerre explore les possibilités de la batterie amplifiée avec son solo MYOTIS.

Son premier geste artistique a été d’aller vers l’énergie rock, qui est l’essence de la musique qu’il joue depuis 20 ans puis il a progressivement élargi sa palette sonore en s’intéressant aux sonorités les plus subtiles et à la nuance pianissimo.
En cherchant l’opposé de son énergie primaire, il a trouvé comment mettre en jeu des
sons inaudibles en les amplifiant grâce à des microphones. L’ajout de hauts parleurs
sur la batterie a amené une dimension supplémentaire et a nourri une matière sonore qu’il a rapidement souhaité entendre déployée, jouée et interprétée par d’autres musiciens.

MYOTIS V est née ainsi d’une envie de partage et d’exploiter tout le potentiel sonore d’un ensemble de percussionnistes.

En choisissant les Percussions de Strasbourg , Anthony a souhaité travailler avec un ensemble qui se connaît bien et qui possède son propre son, dans le but d’aller à l’essentiel, d’apporter sa propre vision sonore des percussions et de la transmettre.

Leurs immenses compétences techniques et le vaste instrumentarium à leur disposition offrent un terrain de jeu idéal pour experimenter et innover. Se lier aux Percussions de Strasbourg c’est aussi bénéficier d’une écoute, d’un jeu singulier et d’une banque de son en constante évolution.

Cette création a été réalisée avec l’appui et la complicité de Minh-Tâm Nguyen, directeur artistique des Percussions de Strasbourg.

Since 2017 Anthony Laguerre has been exploring the possibilities of amplified drum kit with his solo creation MYOTIS.

His first artistic move was towards rock energy, which is the essence of the music he has been playing for the past 20 years. He then progressively broadened his sound palette, becoming interested in the subtlest sonorities and pianissimo nuances.

In searching for the opposite of his primal energy, he found how to bring into play inaudible sounds by amplifying them with microphones. The addition of speakers to the drum kit brought a supplementary dimension and nourished sound material that he soon wanted to hear deployed, played and interpreted by other musicians.

MYOTIS V was born as well as the desire to share and exploit the sound potential of a percussion ensemble.

In choosing Percussions de Strasbourg, Anthony wished to work with an ensemble who knew each other well and which had its own sound, with the aim of finding the essence, to bring his own sonic vision of percussion and to transmit it.

Their immense technical competences and the vast instrumentarium at their disposal provide an ideal playground for experimentation and innovation. Joining Les Percussions de Strasbourg also means benefiting from a unique playing style and a constantly evolving sound bank, as well as new listening perspectives.

This creation was realised with the support and involvement of Minh-Tâm Nguyen, artistic director of Percussions de Strasbourg.
